2024 Food Support Initiative
(Uganda Communities)

Across the 2024 and 2025 Christmas seasons, Indo Africa Charitable Society delivered food assistance to hundreds of vulnerable households, directly impacting an estimated 1,500–3,000 individuals, including children, elderly family members, and public service families living in police barracks. Based on average household sizes of 5–7 individuals per family, each food hamper provided support sufficient to sustain an entire household for 7–14 days.

Celebrating the Community, Through Giving!

In addition to addressing nutritional needs, the program alleviated financial strain on families living below or near the poverty line. For many recipients, the food packages represented the equivalent of one to two weeks of household food expenses, allowing families to redirect limited income toward other essential needs such as school fees, housing, and healthcare.

Beyond physical assistance, the program strengthened social and emotional wellbeing. Community feedback indicated increased morale, reduced stress among caregivers, and improved holiday participation among children. The initiative also strengthened community trust and engagement, reinforcing Indo Africa’s presence as a consistent and reliable support partner.

The initiative distributed essential food staples including rice, maize flour, cooking oil, sugar, beans, and other core nutritional items. These packages provided an estimated 10,000–20,000 individual meals across both years, helping reduce immediate hunger risk during the holiday period.
