Vision, Care & Community in Lugazi

Many residents in Lugazi and neighboring rural communities face financial and geographic barriers that limit access to consistent medical treatment.

Our volunteer team worked alongside local healthcare providers and community leaders to establish temporary clinics that offered comprehensive screenings, early diagnosis, and immediate care.

Patients received prescription eyeglasses, treatment for eye infections, dental extractions for severe decay, and guidance on preventative hygiene practices. The mission also prioritized children and elderly patients who are often most vulnerable to untreated vision and oral health challenges.

Educational workshops emphasized sustainable health habits, safe sanitation practices, and early symptom awareness. Through collaboration, compassion, and clinical expertise, the Lugazi 2025 mission strengthened community trust while expanding long-term healthcare access.

During the Lugazi 2025 mission, over 850 patients were served across multiple clinic days. Approximately 500 individuals received vision screenings, with more than 320 pairs of prescription eyeglasses distributed to restore daily functionality and independence.

The dental team conducted over 400 oral health consultations and completed nearly 210 extractions and restorative treatments for advanced decay and infection-related pain.

Community education sessions reached an estimated 700 residents, reinforcing preventative care practices and early detection strategies.

Follow-up partnerships with local clinics ensured continued monitoring and referral pathways for complex medical cases. The mission demonstrated measurable success through reduced untreated infections, improved vision accessibility, and increased health awareness throughout the Lugazi community.
