2024 Uganda Medical Mission
(Karamoja Uganda)
Partnership with Federation of Uganda Medical Students’ Association (FUMSA)
In a historic expansion year, IACS supported a second medical camp in Karamoja, one of Uganda’s most economically disadvantaged regions. Over a 10-day period, the partnership with FUMSA delivered care to an extraordinary 30,292 patients, averaging more than 3,000 patients per day. This made it one of the highest-volume outreach efforts supported by the organization.

Mobile Care, Lasting Impact!
Karamoja’s limited healthcare infrastructure means many residents lack routine access to physicians or medication. By reaching over thirty thousand individuals in a short timeframe, the mission significantly increased access to immediate treatment, preventative screenings, and essential medications.
The initiative also strengthened local capacity by empowering Ugandan medical students to participate directly in humanitarian healthcare delivery, fostering sustainability beyond the duration of the camp.
With logistical, financial, and operational support from IACS, the FUMSA team successfully delivered medical care to an extraordinary 30,292 patients within a 10-day period.
This outreach provided: General medical consultations, Treatment for infectious diseases, Pediatric care, Preventative health screenings, Medication distribution, Health education and community awareness
This partnership was especially significant because it empowered local medical students to actively participate in humanitarian service, helping build Uganda’s future healthcare workforce while delivering immediate, life-saving care.
